It's been a good three months now since we had some sales numbers to send your way here at BMW of Des Moines. The last time we checked in, our favorite automaker was breaking records left and right here in the States. And now that September has come and gone, it's time we shifted our focus to the global market.

Over the course of last September, the brass at BMW managed to 158,029 vehicles worldwide, making for a 7.6% increase in global fleet sales. It was enough to bump their year-to-date sales tally up to 1,209,598 units, a 9.0% year-over-year increase over the 1,109,962 units they sold in the first nine months of 2012.

As for how BMW has kept this gravy train going strong, well, the world just can't seem to get enough of our lineup.

"We have been able to keep our European sales on a similar level year-on-year and once again reported major gains in the US and Asia," says Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management at BMW. "We are therefore well on our way to another increase in deliveries for the full year 2013 and a new sales record."1

In terms of last month's best-sellers, the BMW 3-Series was a big help when it shipped 44,572 models last month, a 13.9% sales increase over its numbers in September of 2012. Not to be outdone, the ever-popular 2014 BMW X1 managed to pass the 500,000 sales mark since being introduced to our lineup in 2009.

Then again, milestones like these are the result of a team effort. So regardless of which model on our lineup strikes your fancy, you can't go wrong with a test drive at our dealership here in Urbandale, IA.
