The BMW X5 is being courted and we don't think this Sports Activity Vehicle minds it one bit. While this model isn't getting official BMW updates for the Geneva Motor Show two tuners have taken this model into their shops to prove which customizer was the best.
At BMW of Des Moines we don't have a favorite, they both look great, but we think Hamann and AC Schnitzer's redesigns will appeal to specific clients.
Hamanna Motorsport, based out of Laupheim, Germany, has been specializing in tuned BMW and other luxury brand vehicles since 1986. For the BMX X5 the company gave the vehicle a wider look with fender flares, a side skirt, and also front spoilers for a racing appeal. They also lowered the vehicle 40 mm, which does give the car a more menacing appeal as well.
AC Schnitzer's team took a more subtle approach to upgrading the BMX X5. They also lowered the vehicle and gave it some length, but the tires and body kits are less noticeable. Instead, most of their tuning took place under the hood. A custom exhaust took this luxury vehicle from 306 hp to 360 hp and 450 to 525 hp for the BMW X5 35i and BMW X5 50i, respectively.
We wouldn't mind getting either of these models at the showroom, and we loved seeing these custom versions.
At out Urbandale, IA location we have a great selection of new inventory models, including the 2014 BMW X5. Stop into our showroom to see these luxurious models in person.
