We wouldn't say we're paranoid, and it's not like we don't trust our customers behind the wheel, but there are some really bad drivers out there. Then again, even if we didn't have to worry about the competency of other drivers, there's always the unexpected to account for; acts of god, if you will. Okay, maybe we're a little paranoid, but what can we say, we're just really big on safety here at BMW of Des Moines.
Well thanks to our favorite automaker, our fears on the road have finally been put to rest.
Just recently, a number of upcoming BMW models took the stage at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. One of those models was the BMW Concept X5 Security Plus: a luxurious CUV fit for a world leader.
Like the name implies, the styling of this concept is based off the BMW X5 models on our lineup. As for what sets it apart, well it's about the safest thing you can drive without hopping inside a tank.
Underneath that attention-grabbing exterior are high-performance steel body panels, high-strength steel moldings and sealed joints to boot. Throw in some polycarbonate-coated security glass, and an AK-47 wouldn't stand a chance against this bad boy. Oh, and if you're ever in need of a quick getaway, the 450 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged V8 engine ought to come in handy.
Needless to say, we are just crossing our fingers that this concept makes its way to the production line.
