For those unfamiliar, ConnectedDrive is a technology system that you can upload onto your smartphone and sync to your BMW vehicle in order to gain access to a veritable host of cutting-edge apps and cutting-edge features. In an effort to show just how helpful they can be, the marketing wizards at BMW decided to whip up a couple commercials with parents in mind.
The first commercial shows a thirty-something father trying to read the paper and shop for groceries while his son keeps asking him "Why?" to statements never posed. Rather than attempt to untangle the pretzel logic of his child's inquiries, the father sits his son in the driver's seat of his parked BMW and turns on the Concierge Services app that's ready, willing and able to answer all of his son's incessant questions.
The second ad features a teenage girl standing outside in her driveway with a teenage boy after their first date. As these things tend to go, the boy leans in to kiss her, only to have his smooth moves foiled when dad starts flashing the lights on his BMW at them from his phone. Take that, creep!
