When it comes to forthcoming luxury cars, being a new BMW dealer serving Ames, LA is comparable to being a detective. You see, as our choice Bavarian brand begins to test their redesigned models, they take them out and about for a spin.

Usually, they're heavily camouflaged during said spin, which is where our investigative tendencies come into play. As you may be suspecting, that's the case with today's news. Namely, the seventh-generation BMW 5 Series model has been caught testing.

Let's get to it. Slated to arrive at BMW of Des Moines in 2015, the next-generation 2016 model borrows some of its panache from the styling of the luxury brand's Gran Lusso Coupe Concept. That two-door vehicle, you'll recall, was designed in cooperation with the Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina. It's part of an effort to give modern nuisances to the automaker's fashionable design language.

Returning to the 2016 BMW 5 Series, also part of this reinvented styling technique, the forthcoming model will ride upon the German automaker's brand-new OKL platform. Assembled with carbon fiber, aluminum and steel components, the chassis is light-weight and that will most likely result in increased efficiency.

Of course, that remains to be seen. For more details on the upcoming 2016 model, we welcome you to follow our BMW of Des Moines blog where we'll post routine updates.

In the meantime, we kindly welcome you to visit our showroom in Urbandale, IA to arrange test drives in the current BMW 5 Series, or your choice luxury model, anytime.
